2007-18 Jeep Wrangler JK Sub Box Double Small 2007 and up Jeep Wrangler has a little more room in the back and the tailgate is a little different from the previous years. This design is a downfire box that fits snuggly in the cargo area. With the tapered front of the box up against the back of the rear seat, if the tailgate is locked, this box would be very difficult to steal. It has 1.8cuft total, for either two 8s or one 10 or 12 with 8 1/2” of mounting depth. A downfire box like this works best in an open-air vehicle like a Jeep because the loading effect of the downfire design. It helps to get a little more output since there is no cabin gain in an open-air vehicle like this. Short version is downfire is a good way to make the system louder in a Jeep. This is our smaller Downfire Ported design for these JK Jeeps. The top of the box sits a little over the tailgate for a low-profile design. This is our ported design can accommodate up to two 8s, one 10 or 12 sub. This design is for maximum airspace and the depth of the box can be reduced if desired. This depth allows full access to the storage bin in the floor of the trunk and comes right to the edge of the floor storage lid. Our boxes are designed according to your subwoofer’s specifications. No two boxes will really be alike. At checkout, there is a Comment box, please give us the model number of your subs and we will build the box as needed. We tend to tune our boxes deep, around 34-37hz. If you have any specific requests, please feel free to let us know. This is a ported subwoofer box. Ported subwoofer boxes are for customers who want louder, deeper bass with the lower bass more pronounced. Because of the ported design, the bass will not be as tight and punchy as a sealed box, but there is double the bass of a sealed box with the same subs. A sealed subwoofer box has a tight and punchy bass that is more articulate and truer to the music with a more natural sound. If tight, punchy bass is what you want then our sealed box will be what you want. This box is made of 3/4″ MDF and is fully carpeted in matching carpet. The nickel-plated spring-loaded speaker terminals are mounted on the back of the box and the speaker wires are soldered on for a solid and reliable connection.
